'Vellimoonga' grossed Rs 8 crores

‘Vellimoonga’ collected around 8 crores, including satellite rights, within three weeks of its release. The movie is produced by Ullattil Sashidharan.

‘Vellimoonga’, which casts Biju Menon in the lead role as Mamachen, a local politician, is the debut directorial venture of cameraman Jibu Jacob. The film is scripted by Joji Thomas.

While many producers and heroines rejected the project, Ullattil Sashidharan was ready to produce the film and Nikki Galrani readily accepted the role to be the heroine of Biju Menon.

The success of this film with no super stars and with a new writer and director shows that films with good story line and presentation will find acceptance among audience.
