Stir against Sathyan's film before release in the 80's

Director Sathyan Anthikkad, who is known for family entertainers, faced a dilemma when he announced the name of his film in 1988. The film ‘Ponmuttayidunna Tharavu’ was initially titled ‘Ponmuttayidunna Thattan’, which was appeared in posters.

The film, starred by Sreenivasan, tells the story of a goldsmith, who is head over heels in love with Snehalatha, played by Urvashi. Once the posters came out with the title ‘Ponmuttayidunna Thattan’ there was a huge protest from goldsmiths and Sathyan had to replace the title with ‘Ponmuttayidunna Tharavu’.

This comical family drama went on to become a big hit during that time.
