State Film Awards: Mammootty, Vincy Best Actors

Actor Mammootty bagged his eighth State Best Actor Award for his stupendous performance in Lijo Jose Pellissery-directed ‘Nanpakal Nerathu Mayakkam’ in the 53rd State Film Awards announced in Thiruvananthapuram today.

Vincy Aloshious won her maiden Best Actress Award for the film ‘Rekha,’ which was released on OTT. The performances of Kunchako Boban in ‘Nna Thaan Case Kodu’ and Alencier in ‘Appan’ fetched them Special Jury Mention. ‘Nna Thaan Case Kodu,’ helmed by Ratheesh Balakrishna Poduval, bagged around five awards in various categories.

Of the154 films selected for the State Film Awards competition, 30 of them reached the final round. Noted Bengali actor-director Goutam Ghose was the Jury Chairman.
