Shaji Kailas turns producer with 'Thakkol'

Filmmaker Shaji Kailas is producing a Malayalam film titled “Thakkol.” The shooting for the movie is set to commence in Goa on April 18. The puja of the film was held at Amritapuri, Vallikkavu near Karunagappally in Kollam district.

Shaji along with K.R. Prasad and Mathew Joseph Thekkel will produce films under the banner of Paragon Cinemas. “Thakkol” will be the maiden project of this banner.

This film is scripted and directed by Kiron Prabhakaran. Oscar winner Rasool Pookkutty will be the sound designer of the film, which features Indrajith, Murali Gopy, Iniya, Lakshmi Gopalaswami, Sudheer Karamana, Prashanth Narayanan and Nedumudi Venu among others.

Alby cranks the camera while M. Jayachandran composes music to the lyrics penned by Rafeeq Ahamed, Prabha Varma and Satheesh Edamannel.

The film is scheduled to release in August.
