Three Malayalam films in Kolkata Film Festival

Three Malayalam films have reportedly been selected for the 14th Kolkata Film Festival (KFF), to be held at Kolkata from the 10th of November to the 17th of November. The three films are –Adayalangal, Rathrimazha and Novel.


Adayalangal, directed by debutante M.G. Sasi, is based on the life of Malayalam writer Nandanar and has Govind Padmasurya, Jyothirmayi, Manikandan, Sathi etc in key roles. The film bagged 5 state awards recently.


Rathrimazha, directed by Lenin Rajendran, had won several state awards in 2006 and is a love story with music occupying a very important place. The film has Vineeth and Meera Jasmine in key roles and features music by Ramesh Narayanan.


Novel, directed by debutante East Coast Vijayan, is a romantic movie, with Jayaram and Tamil actress Sada in key roles. This is also a musical, though it failed to make any impact at the box office.
