Thilakan to be expelled by both AMMA and FEFCA

Cochin, Feb.17 (NR): It seems to be a sad state of affairs for thespian actor Thilakan. Both the major organizations of the Malayalam film industry, AMMA and FEFCA have decided to expel the actor.

AMMA had asked Thilakan last week to unconditionally apologize for the controversy that had arisen out of the actor's statements to the press. Thilakan had alleged that a superstar was instrumental in his being ousted from the Joshey directed 'Christian Brothers'.

Thilakan however refused to tender an apology and in his reply to AMMA said that he didn't mind even if he were not allowed to act in Malayalam films. This would lead AMMA to expel the actor from the Association.

Meanwhile, FEFCA President Siby Malayil said that the association would not cooperate with the actor, unless he apologized for the allegations that he had leveled against it. Thilakan had referred to the FEFCA as a mafia organization.

The actor had also lodged a complaint with the police last week, after he received threatening calls on his mobile phone.

With both AMMA and FEFCA toughening their stand against the actor, his future in Malayalam films look glum. A sorry state indeed, since we stand to lose one of the best actors in the country over a squabble that must have been fairly resolved.
