Success of 'Yakshiyum Njanum' marks a new beginning: Thilakan

Alappuzha, Aug.22 (NR): Actor Thilakan said that the success of his new film 'Yakshiyum Njanum' directed by Vinayan is a new beginning for Malayalam cinema.

Thilakan was interacting with media persons at a press conference here. He said that from the responses of the audience, its evident that the audience has liked the film.

Thilakan however alleged that some people were deliberately trying to prove that the film is a flop. Some people who were howling inside the theaters, when caught and questioned had admitted that they were being paid for it, Thilakan added.

Thilakan said that those who were conspiring against a film by newcomers should themselves remember that they were newcomers once. He remarked that such attempts would only pull Malayalam cinema back further.

Goutham, who plays the male lead in the film, Nawas who has handled the camera and editor Pradeep Emily also took part in the conference.
