Ranjith acts again!

Director Ranjith is acting for the second time. Scenarist-turned-director-producer Ranjith faced the camera for the first time in Gulmohar, directed by Jayaraj. It was Jayaraj who had convinced him to try his hand at acting, thus resulting in his playing a key role in the film, which has been completed and is awaiting release.

Perhaps encouraged by this, Ranjith has ventured to act again, this time in his own film Thirakatha.

The film has Prithviraj in the lead role of a film-director named Akbar Ahmed. It also has Priyamani, Samvritha Sunil and Nishant Sagar in key roles.

Ranjith plays a small role in the film, that of a director named Eby. The role was originally intended to be a full-length one, meant for Siddique, but since Siddique couldn't come to act in the film, it was cut short and Ranjith decided to do the role himself.

Thirakatha is getting ready for release.
