Parvathy in Title Role of Tamil Version of Chinthamani Kolacase

Notebook fame actress Parvathy, who is also doing the female lead role in the Sibi Malayil-directed Mohanlal-starrer Flash, is to do the title role in the Tamil version of the Shaji Kailas-directed Chinthamani Kolacase. The original, which was a very different kind of thriller with Suresh Gopi in the lead role, had Bhavana playing the title role of Chinthamani, a medical college student who gets murdered.

The Tamil version, which is yet to get a name, will reportedly have a debutante actor playing the hero, that of the criminal lawyer played by Suresh Gopi in Malayalam. Manivannan and Vadivelu would be playing key roles in the film, which will most likely take off on New Year's Day 2008. The Tamil version, to be directed by Shaji Kailas himself, will have Coimbatore as the prime location, while some portion would also be shot in Mauritius.
