Kochi, Oct 19 (IANS) This is the dull season every year for Malayalam cinema as it is the holy month of Ramzan. So the list of top five films remains unchanged from last time because there were no new releases.
1. "Chaandupottu": The Dileep-Lal Jose combination rediscovers its Midas touch through this film. The contribution of writer Benny P. Nayarambalam cannot be ignored.
2. "Naran": Good times return for superstar Mohanlal with this film. Writer Ranjan Pramod has also worked his magic.
3. "Nerariyan CBI": This film is exactly the opposite of the previous two films. Here superstar Mammootty saves a patchy story and screenplay.
4. "Bharathchandran IPS": This film is a deadly combination of the charisma of Suresh Gopi and intelligent direction by Renji Panikar.
5. "Lokanathan IAS": Kalabhavan Mani's efforts to repeat the success of "Ben Johnson" has gone in vain.
