Mammootty in Priyanandanan's 'Shabdangal'

Cochin, Oct.24 (NR): Megastar Mammootty might play the lead role in 'Shabdangal', a film based on Vaikom Muhammed Basheer's celebrated work by the same name.

The film would be directed by Priyanandanan, who had given us such films as 'Neythukaran' and 'Sufi Paranja Katha'.

Mammootty would play the role of an army man in the film, that many believe has autobiographical elements of the author.

The scripting of the film is complete and Priyanandanan has collaborated with N Sasidharan to pen the script.

The army man that Mammootty plays in the film would be drastically different from similar roles that he has donned previously, as in 'Koodevide', 'Nair Saab' or 'Sainyam'. In 'Shabdangal' he would play an ex-military man who has seen the best of his days and who wages a battle with disease and memories.

The role is expected to pose fresh challenges for the actor who has been experimenting with diverse roles recently. Click the Movie button below for more info:
