Kaviyoor Ponnamma bags Bharath Murali award

Cochin, July 4 (NR): Noted film actor Kaviyoor Ponnamma has been selected for this year’s Bharat Murali Award instituted by Kottarakara Bharat Murali Cultural Centre. . The award is in recognition to her vast achievement in Malayalam cinema.

Kaviyoor Ponnamma has been recognised for her enormous efforts in Malayalam films and hence has been presented with a Bharat Murali film award. The award includes a cash prize of Rs 10,000, a trophy and a citation.

The committee that selected Ponnamma for the award comprised of director Vijaya Krisnan, Maneka, Dr Biju, Bharat Murali and cultural centre chairman Palliseri. Minister KB Ganesh Kumar will present the award to Kaviyoor Ponnamma on August 5 at a remembrance function to be held at Veliyam.

The Bharat Murali award is presented annually to female actors.
