Five Malayalam films to be part of Goa Film Festival

Five Malayalam films find their place in Indian Panorama for Goa International Film Festival, 2012. Dr Biju’s ‘Akasathinte Niram’, Madhupal’s ‘Ozhimuri’, T V Chandran’s ‘Bhoomiyude Avakasikal’, Anjali Menon’s ‘Manchadikuru’, and K Gopinath ‘s ‘Ithra Mathrem’are the Malayalam films being selected to Indian panorama.

Out of the total of 18 films which are being selected to the Indian Panorama, the most number of films is from Malayalam. The selection panel was headed by Bengali director Budhdev Das Gupta.

The 43rd International Film Festival of India (IFFI) is scheduled to be held from Nov 20- 30. The film festival will open with the 3D Film ‘Life of Pi’ directed by Ang Lee, which is based on the Man Booker Prize winning novel by Yann Martel and ‘The Reluctant Fundamentalist’ by Mira Nair will close the festival.
