Fazil introduces yet another new face

Director Fazil introducing a new face is not at all news in Malayalam Cinema. Prominent among the actors he introduced are Mohanlal, Kunchacko Boban, Nadiya Moithu, Shalini (first as a child artist in his Ente Maamattikutti Ammaykku and then as a heroine with his Aniyathipraavu) etc.

And now, with his new film, shooting for which has already commenced, the maker of many family hits once again introduces a new face - Ashwathy. Ashwathy Ashok, who is doing her graduation in Ernakulam, began as an anchor on television. Now, with Fazil's movie, Ashwathy gets launched on the big screen as well.

In fact the bubbly young actress was Fazil's choice for his Tamil flick, which however didn't happen. But Fazil, who did discover in Ashwathy an actress worth introducing in his film, has chosen to introduce her in his Malayalam film, in which she is cast opposite Dileep. Ashwathy does the role of Nandana, a bold yet sweet and lovable kind of girl. While Ashwathy's father Ashok is working in Saudi Arabia, her mother Anitha writes stories, poems etc, most of which have been published in leading Malayalam publications. The film is likely to get released during Christmas.
