An Ode to Ray's 'Charulatha'!

Forty five years after Satyajit Ray made his memorable 'Charulatha', here comes a movie in Malayalam that could be termed an ode to Ray's classic movie.

'Charulathayude Baakki', directed by debutante Sangeetha, is based on a short story of the same name, written by Priya.S. The story, based on Satyajit Ray's 'Charulatha', impressed Sangeetha so much that she decided to make it her debut film.

Sangeetha, who has been associated with television for long, has also had some experience working as an associate director. 'Charulathayude Baakki' has Vineeth and Padmapriya in lead, roles and also features Vanitha, Manianpillai Raju, Dinesh Panicker, Sreelatha, Vasantha Kokilam etc in the cast. Sangeetha and Priya.S pen the script for the film, which has cinematography by Shahnad, editing by Manoj and art-direction by Gokuldas.
