Guinness Pakru aims at second Guinness entry
Aug 24, 2012 IANSAjayan, popularly known as Guinness Pakru, says he always wanted to to direct a film and it has now become a reality.
"My film has been titled as 'Kuttiyum Kolum' and it would go on the floors starting October. We expect to do the post production in November, and it would hit the theatres in the end of December," Ajayan told reporters here Friday.
In 2008, Ajayan featured in the film "Albudhadweep", directed by Vinayan. It had a cast of 360 dwarfs, and helped Ajayan earn a Guinness record for being the shortest hero doing an adult role in a commercial film.
His directorial project "Kuttiyum Kolum" is set around a popular old game of the same name. The game was played in rural Kerala and it is played as a team using a stick (Kolu), which is around two feet long and another small stick, which is around 12 cms long.
The game started to lose popularity after incidents of damage to the players' eyes became common.
"The film revolves around the friendship of two friends and the film opens with a game of 'Kuttiyum Kolum'. In the film my character's name is Kutti and we are scouting for an actor to play the role of Kolu," added Ajayan.
The film is being produced by United Films-Pavithran Group headed by Anzar, and would be shot in and around Kollencode in Palakkad district. The entire cast of the film will be announced Sep 5.
Ajayan has completed his silver jubilee in the film industry and acted in 60 films, include those in Tamil and Kannada. Click the Movie button below for more info:
