'Akam' to hit the theatres on April 26

Written and directed by Shalini Usha Nair, ‘Akam’ will be released on the 26th of this month. The movie stars Fahad Fazil and Anumol in the lead roles.

‘Akam’ is a modern retelling of Malayattoor Ramakrishnan’s classic psycho-thriller novel Yakshi. The film is also an attempt by writer and director Shalini Usha Nair to delve into the Malayali psyche.

The movie narrates the story of Sreenivasan, a young architect, who starts suspecting that his beautiful wife Ragini is a Yakshi (demon).

The movie is shot in and around Thiruvananthapuram. The movie was screened in the Dubai International Film Festival (2011), the International Film Festival of Kerala (2011), and in the Shanghai International Film Festival (2012).
