Kerala State Film Awards declared

Kerala State Film Awards are declared. Lal and Fahad Fazil are the Best Actors and Ann Augustine is the Best Actress. While Shyamaprasad bags the Best Director Award, Sudevan’s ‘Crime No 89’ is the Best Movie. Suraj Venjarammoodu, who gained the National Award for the Best Actor is the Best Comedian in the State level.

Fahad Fazil (‘Artist’, ‘North 24 Katham’) and Lal (‘Ayal’, ‘Zachariyayude Garbhinikal’) shared the Best Actor Award. Suraj has been acclaimed as the Best Comedian for his performances in ‘Daivathinte Swanthum Cletus’, and ‘Pullipulikalum Aattinkuttiyum’.

Shyamaprasad and Ann Augustine bag the awards for Best Director and Best Actress respectively through the film ‘Artist’. Ashok Kumar (‘Crime No 89’) is the Second Best Actor and Lena (‘Left Right Left’ and ‘Kanyaka Talkies’) is the Second Best Actress. The second Best Film is ‘North 24 Katham’.

Anish Anwar is the Best Story Writer for ‘Zachariyayude Garbhinikal’ and Suji Vasudev is the Best Cinematographer (‘Ayal’, ‘Memories’). Bobby-Sanjay duo is selected as the Best Script Writer for ‘Mumbai Police’. Prabha Varma and Dr Madhu Vasudev are the Best Lyricists, Ouseppachen, the Best Music Director and the Best Singers are Karthik and Vaikkom Vijayalakshmi.

‘Philips and the Monkey Pen’ is the Best Children’s Film. ‘Drishyam’ is awarded as the Best Popular Film. K R Manoj is the Best Debut Director (‘Kanyaka Talkies’) and M Bawa is the Best Art Director (‘Amen’).
