Actress Saranya is no more

Actress Saranya, who had been battling a rare form of brain tumour for many years, passed away in Thiruvananthapuram on Monday. The 35-year-old actress had undergone 11 surgeries.

Her health worsened after she contracted COVID-19 recently. Even though she tested negative for the virus later, she suffered from multiple post-COVID complications and was put on ventilator support.

Saranya quit serials and films when she was diagnosed with brain tumour in 2008. Besides a string of TV serials, Saranya has also acted in movies like "Chotta Mumbai", and "Thalappavu".
