'1983' scores a century

The sports entertainer ‘1983’ directed by fashion photographer Abrid Shine has completed 100 days of successful run. This is the first directorial venture of Abrid Shine.

‘1983’, which was released on January 31, 2014 in 47 centers across Kerala and around 65 centers outside Kerala, got highly positive responses from viewers and critics alike. Many directors too appreciated the movie much.

The movie told the story of the passion for cricket among the people in a remote village in Kerala. Nivin Pauly does the lead role as Rameshan. Anoop Menon, Joy Mathew, Nikki Galrani, Srinda Ashab, Jacob Gregory, Shine Tom Chacko, Saiju Kurup, Dinesh, Sanju, and Sui Joseph lend support.

The movie is scripted by the director along with scenarist Bipin Chandran. The movie is produced under the banner of Shams Films. Pradeesh Varma wielded the camera and Gopi sunder composed music for the movie.
