'Ghajini' proves a blockbuster

Chennai, Oct 23 (IANS) Actor Surya's "Ghajini" has proved to be the next blockbuster after "Anniyan". Everybody expected the film to do well but not like "Anniyan."

The audiences have welcomed the film warmly paving a great time ahead for Surya, actress Asin and director Murugadoss. The top five films are:

1. "Ghajini" (Director: Murugadoss): Surya worked really hard and the result shows it. But people are not only talking about his acting but the excellent chemistry between him and his lady love, Asin.

2. "Mazhai" (Rajkumar): This film, starring Jeyam Ravi and Shriya, unlike the successful original Telugu film "Varsham", is only an average performer at the box office.

3. "Thottijaya" (Dorai): Silambarasan's first out-and-out action film is a huge success at the box office.

4. "Chanakya" (A. Venkatesah): As Sarath Kumar gets ready for his 100th film, he must be a happy and relieved man. "Chanakya" has been declared a success mainly in the B and C centres.

5. "Oru Kallooriyin Kathai" (Nanda Periyasamy): The success of this film is mainly because of its freshness. It continues to be steady at the box office. Thanks to its success, Arya the engineer-turned-actor now has some excellent projects.
