Mr Marumakan is a complete family entertainer directed by Sandhya Mohan and scripted by Udayakrishna-Siby K Thomas team.

Ashok Raj, though a lawyer by profession has indeed dedicated his life to revive the lost glory that the drama troupe Bharatha Kalakshetram has once enjoyed. His passion is drama and his obsession is his family drama troupe.

Dileep does the role of Ashok Raj and Sanusha, who had made her entry into the Malayalam film industry as a child artist through Mambazhakalam and Kazhcha makes his pair. Director K Bhagyaraj is making his presence in front of the camera for the first time in Malayalam as the father-in-law of Dileep and Tamil actress Khushboo is starred opposite him. The cast also includes Nedumudi Venu, Biju Menon, and Sheela.
