'Veeraappu' is based on the 1995 Malayalam movie 'Sphadikam' which earlier had dubbed in Tamil as 'Yudham'.
In 'Veeraappu', Sundar C and Gopika are the lead actors. Sundar C dons the role of a real-life rowdy. The film follows the account of Sundar C and his father enacted by Prakash Raj who he has grown estranged from in his childhood. Living under the same roof, they are unable to be father and son to each other. Son, the classic rowdy and his father the schoolmaster.
