Shambu Malayalam Movie

Snakari is a noted Tamil novelist and short story writer who belongs to a Coimbatore based Brahmin family. She falls in love with and marries Mahadevan. As Fate would have it, Mahadevan passes away a few years after the marriage, leaving Sankari to fend for their two children Shambhu and Ranjini. Sankari, who is also a college lecturer, gets transferred to Palakkad and settles in a small rented house with her children. She wants her son Shambhu to become an IAS officer. Shambhu, who has few friends in college, immerses himself in his studies. But he becomes a victim of campus politics and is jailed for an offence he never committed. This brings about a dramatic change in him.

Shambhu, produced by Ranjeesh and Ashraf Bedi and directed by KB Madhu, has Vijayakumar playing the lead role. This is the fifth film in which Vijayakumar dons the stellar role, the others being Kulapathi, Gamanam, Kokkarako and Leader. Sindoori who caught attention through her performance in the Tamil hit Boyz makes her Malayalam debut in Shambhu, which also sees the return of Babu Antony as a villain. The film, which has five peppy numbers from Jazzy Gift, is slated for release on August 15, 2006.
