What happens when a love is spurned? The lover becomes obsessive and can go to any limits to attain his lost love. Time Magnetics' forthcoming venture MASHOOKA tells the story of one such spurned lover, who crosses all limits to get back her lost love. "It is an intense story of love, passion and obsession," says producer-director Afzal Ahmed, who returns to film-making after a span of almost ten years, after his last film, EKKA RAJA RANI. "It was the subject that actually got me inspired to get back to film-making after such a long time," says Ahmed, who was busy conceptualizing some of the best ad campaigns during this period.

MASHOOKA tells the story of the passionate Sanjana and the lovelorn Vicky. How is it like becoming vulnerable on a fateful day that changes the entire spectrum of one's life? MASHOOKA gives us that glimpse when Vicky who has been forlorn ever since his separation from Monica gets into a steamy, passionate one-day stand with Sanjana, and those passionate moments become his very own nemesis. While Vicky dismisses it off as a mistake, Sanjana begins to give it the definition of life-long love. It is at this juncture that Monika, Vicky's long-lost flame returns back to his life. That's when the dangerous game of love, obsession and revenge begins when Sanjana wants her relationship to crystallize and Vicky is torn between his love on one hand and the mistake he committed on the other.

MASHOOKA stars three very promising actors, Meghna Naidu of 'Kaliyon Ka Chaman' fame, model-actor Aditya Hal and Vidya Malavade who was last seen in Vishesh Films' INTEHAA, with Meghna playing the title role of Mashooka. According to Ahmed, he found Meghna to be the ideal choice for the role of a seductress, who goes to any limits to achieve her end. "I had seen Meghna in the 'Kaliyon ka Chaman' album and I felt she was ideal for the role," Ahmed recalls. In the case of Aditya, Ahmed found out that the model turned actor besides having an excellent physique could also emote very well. Like Meghna Naidu, the surprise packet of the film, according to Ahmed, is the presence of Vidya Malavade, who shot to fame with the 'Maska Chaska' ad campaign and currently has some of the best line-up of films. "The three have given hard-hitting performances in the film," he reveals.

It is not just the performances, the film has the melodious score of music-directors Sajid- Wajid who have composed some out of the ordinary numbers in keeping with the film's storyline. The biggest USP of the film is Afzal Ahmed's direction.

Ahmed who after EKKA RAJA RANI, got busy with the mega-serial HATIMTAI and a hundred odd advertising films, is hoping that the film hits the bull's eyes at the box-office. "It is the kind of film that will keep the viewers glued to their seats," he says.
