Padaiveeran is the story of a local village youngster who upon wasting most of his youth decides to do something with his life; something that will not demand a lot of effort from him but fetch him a lot of money. He decides to become a Police Man. After a lot of efforts, he becomes one only to realise that he has been posted in his own hometown as part of a local crisis management team following a breakout of violence caused by local issues. The hero is torn between looking out for his people and doing what feels morally right to him. How the issue changes the hero and who becomes victorious in the end forms the climax of Padaiveeran.
