Vijay Sethupathi's 'MELLISAI' now turned to 'PURIYADHA PUTHIR'

The upcoming Vijay Sethupathi - Gayathrie starrer film ‘Mellisai’, is changed to ‘PURIYADHA PUTHIR’. Initially the film was titled in a melodic style (Mellisai), but due to the high voltage content, the team has now changed the title from ‘MELLISAI’ to ‘PURIYADHA PUTHIR’.

Directed by Ranjith Jeyakodi, the film ‘PURIYADHA PUTHIR’ is produced by ‘Rebel Studio’ and the distribution rights have been bagged by J Satish Kumar under the banner JSK Film Corporation. It is to be noted that the 1990 film ‘PURIYADHA PUTHIR’, directed by KS Ravikumar has earned huge positive acclaims and praises from the audience.

J Satish Kumar says, “ The film had all the necessary commercial ingredients. We were apprehensive about the title " Mellisai " since we felt it was too soft . We wanted the title to be ‘dynamic’ because of the high voltage script. And for a high - powered star like Vijay Sethupathi surely a melodic title will not be a choice at this point of his career.
