Veteran actor Peeli Sivam passes away

Veteran actor Peeli Sivam passed away yesterday due to health issues. He was 80 years old. He is survived by his wife Rajeswari and son Uma Shankar.

Peeli Sivam had done significant roles in films like Muthal Vasantham, Paarthal Pasu, Manasukketha Maharasa, Dhoorathu Idimuzhakkam, Rosapoo Ravikkaikaari to name some. He has also played supporting characters in movies like Azhagan, Rajadurai, Veeramani, Ilaignar Ani, Thayagam and Vijaykanth's Virudhagiri. He has worked in several popular Tamil Television serials and Tamil films including Sivaji Ganesan's Imaigal. Peeli Sivam has also won a Kalaimamani Award in the year 1995 from the State Government of Tamilnadu.

Since he had not been keeping well, he had stopped acting for the past two years and had gone to his native place Mettupaalayalm and was being treated for his ailments. He was admitted at Vellore hospital a few days ago where he breathed his last.
