Vedalam creates a record

Ajith starrer Vedalam directed by Siruthai Siva hit the screens for this Diwali on the 10th of November. Although the film has received mixed responses, collection wise it has managed to create a new record in Tamil Nadu.

As per trade pundits, the film has managed to collect a massive amount close to 15 crores on the opening day itself which people feel is the first time for a Tamil film. Looks like the family audiences are also flocking to the theatre and the film having got itself an U certificate has added to the gross amount as they have availed the 30% entertainment tax rebate.

Vedalam is about brother-sister bonding played by Ajith and Laskhmi Menon. Although Shruti Haasan is said to be the heroine, she had a very small role compared to Lakshmi Menon. The supporting cast includes Soori, Thamabi Ramaiah, Motta Rajendran, Ashwin Kakumanu and other. Anirudh has scored the music. Click the Movie button below for more info:
