Chennai, Oct 7 (IANS) Telugu producer Suresh Kondeti has acquired the remake rights of recent Tamil blockbuster "Varuthapadatha Valibar Sangam" (VVS). The remake is set to go on floors soon with a cast yet-to-be finalised.

"I have bought the remake rights and I intend to start shooting for the remake soon. We are yet to zero in on our cast. The story will be tweaked to suit the nativity of the Telugu audiences. The film was very well received in Tamil, and I hope for the same in Telugu as well," Suresh told IANS.

VVS, which released Sep 6 in Tamil Nadu, turned out to be one of the biggest hits of the year in Tamil. Reportedly made on a budget of Rs.7 crore, it minted over Rs.30 crore in first three weeks.

Directed by Ponram, VVS marked the fifth consecutive hit for Sivakarthikeyan, who played the lead in the film. Sri Divya, Soori and Sathyaraj were also seen in important roles.

Kondeti, known for usually producing the Telugu dubbed versions of Tamil films, will be producing a remake for the first time.

Some of the dubbed films of Suresh include "Premisthe" and "Pizza". He has also acquired the Telugu dubbing rights of recent critically acclaimed Tamil drama "Aadhalal Kadhal Seiveer".

Meanwhile, there are rumours that VVS is likely to be remade in Kannada with actor Sharan.
