Akshay Kumar’s gorgeous wife, Twinkle Khanna, started out as an actress, became an entrepreneur and now is a successful writer-columnist.

While she has tasted success in all the roles she has played off-screen, she failed to create any waves onscreen with her acting chops, but Twinkle has no regrets. Talking to a daily, Twinkle said, “Maybe I am better at writing. So, I console myself with the fact that I have a career that lasts me a lifetime.”

Clearly, acting is not one of her passions but films certainly are, and that is what has encouraged Twinkle to explore new grounds as a full-fledge producer with her new banner Mrs Funnybones Movies.

The first film that is being made under her banner is Pad Man, an adaptation of her own novel on Arunachalam Muruganantham, the inventor of a low-cost sanitary pad making machine in India. Twinkle believes that Pad Man is a very important topic and she is just glad to be a part of a project that’s bringing awareness. Speaking about the film, Twinkle said, “It is a subject I believe in. It's a subject that I have written extensively about. Menstruation is a taboo not just in our country but all over the world. It's not something which is openly discussed and I really don't see the logic in it. It's a biological function, why should there be shame around it. That is what I am trying and hoping to describe through Pad Man.”

Pad Man is directed by R.Balki and stars Akshay Kumar, Radhika Apte and Sonam Kapoor.
