Tributes pour in for Sridevi, Rajini to attend the funeral

The nation woke up to the shocking news of the demise of talented and beautiful actress Sridevi, yesterday, the 25th February. The actress was in Dubai to attend the wedding of a relative where she is said to have succumbed to a cardiac arrest late night, Dubai time, on the 24th February. Her husband Boney Kapoor and daughter Khushi were supposed to have been with her.

Tributes have been pouring in for the lovely actress and Prime Minister Narendra Modi tweeted, “Saddened by the untimely demise of noted actor Sridevi. She was a veteran of the film industry, whose long career included diverse roles and memorable performances. My thoughts are with her family and admirers in this hour of grief. May her soul rest in peace: PM @narendramodi”.

Her peers Rajinikanth and Kamal Haasan also shared their grief in social media. While Rajinikanth tweeted, “I’m shocked and very disturbed. I’ve lost a dear friend and the industry has lost a true legend. My heart goes out to her family and friends. I feel the pain with them #RIPSridev ... you will be missed”, Kamal Haasan said, “Have witnessed Sridevi's life from an adolescent teenager to the magnificent lady she became. Her stardom was well deserved. Many happy moments with her flash through my mind including the last time I met her. Sadma's lullaby haunts me now. We'll miss her”. It is also reported that Rajinikanth will be attending her funeral today, the 26th February in Mumbai.
