Tillotama, Gulshan to play couple in Konkona's directorial
Jan 4, 2016 IANSKonkona's directorial has an impressive ensemble of actors like Vikrant Massey, Kalki Koechlin, Gulshan Devaiah, Tanuja Mukherjee and Om Puri besides Tillotama and Konkona's estranged husband Ranvir Shorey, reveals the official website of Studioz IDrream Entertainment.
This is the second time that Tillotama will be working with Gulshan, who had a cameo in short film "Nayantara's Necklace".
When contacted, Tillotama told IANS: "I'm playing a character called Bonnie. Gulshan Devaiah and I are a couple. I guess the universe heard our mutual desire to work together.
"I am really elated to be a part of this film and an ensemble of such wonderful actors. Konkona's script, the rehearsal process and her approach to entering the world of the film has all been a gift and filled me with a renewed sense of vigour. I am excited for her and all of us who are a part of this."
Tillotama said she walked into rehearsals for "A Death In The Gunj" right after shooting a cameo for her "Qissa" director Anup Singh's "The Song of Scorpions", which stars Irrfan Khan and Iranian actress Golshifteh Farahani.
"The joy has been endless," said Tillotama, who famously essayed Alice in "Monsoon Weddings", and got married just last year.
"A Death in the Gunj" has been described as a "coming of age" story that centres around Shutu and his conflicted ideas of masculinity. He finds himself navigating the blurred lines of what is accepted in society and questions his own space within the world.
Asked more about the film, Tillotama said: "It’s best Konkona herself shares more about the film.”
