Thollai Kaatchi is about the effect of Television

After his latest film Zero got the thumbs up from the critics, actor Ashwin Kakumanu became a reliable protagonist for medium-budget films. Now the actor’s light hearted romantic comedy Thollai Kaatchi is in the final stage of shoot.

About the film, Ashiwn states, “It’s about how television medium changes people’s persona; some for the better, some for the worse. My character is a would-be hero who believes in astrology. Janani Iyer plays the female lead in this film, which is bound to make you glad.”

Debutant director Sadiq Khan who had earlier assisted directors A R Murugadoss and Lingusamy directs this film and says, “For the first time, Ashwin sports a new look and plays a rural character. The film is a full-length comedy entertainer, which is set against the backdrop of a village”. Hope Thollaikatchi will be another milestone in the actor’s career.
