Theri does well in local and overseas market

Ilayathalapathy Vijay’s Theri was released on the 14th of April. The film directed by Atlee has GV Prakash’s music and George C William’s camera work. There were a few issues associated with the distribution channel pertaining to the release of the film and it was not screened in the few theatres in Chengelpet area.

In Tamil Nadu, alone, the collections as reported by trade pundits are around 21 crores for the first two days.

Meanwhile, Theri is having a dream run in North America, and according to its distributor CineGalaxy Inc it has collected $390,000 from two days, which is the highest for a non-Rajinikanth starrer. Trade Analyst Taran Adarsh says that Theri has given a stiff competition to Hindi film Airlift in Australia too. He tweets, “Hindi films facing tough competition in AUSTRALIA. Earlier, Punjabi films.
