Thara Thappattai gets A certificate

Tharai Thappattai directed by Bala is about karagattam and other folk art forms of Tamil Nadu. The film stars Sasikumar and Varalakshmi Sarathkumar in the lead and has the music of legendary Ilayaraja for whom this film becomes the landmark 1000th film. Chezhian handles the cinematography for the film.
Tharai Thappattai has gone in for censors yesterday, the 30th December and has been certified as A due to its violent content. It has to be recalled that during the making of its climax fight sequence, hero Sasikumar broke his hand and was incapacitated for more than three months.
It is reported that the censor officials had asked Bala if he was willing to cut a few scenes and mute some dialogues which would have resulted in the film getting U/A. But Bala has apparently denied that and did not mind his film getting A. So, finally the film will be getting ready for a Pongal 2016 release. Click the Movie button below for more info:
