Neelam Upadhyaya prefers good films over language
Jun 4, 2013 IANS"I agree most southern actresses aspire to make a career in Bollywood, but it's not the case with the entire industry. I enjoy working in south so much that I eagerly look forward to shoot in Hyderabad because I'm in love with the city," Neelam told IANS.
Neelam, who hails from Gujarat, made her cinematic debut with Telugu romantic-drama "Mr. 7".
Dismissing reports of bias, she said: "It's a myth that north Indian actresses face discrimination in south. All of us work like a family."
"I still remember that while working for my upcoming film 'Action 3D', I initially felt lonely but my crew realised it and started engaging me in all their conversations. It was so much fun," she added.
She, however, clarifies that she hasn't ruled out her Bollywood dream.
"I also want to make it in Bollywood, but that's not my only priority. I want to do good films in south and when an opportunity to do a Hindi film will come my way, I don't mind grabbing it," said Neelam, currently busy with a project each in Tamil and Telugu.
