Monopolization of theatres biggest threat: Nagarjuna
May 12, 2013 Haricharan Pudipeddi"There have been far too many changes in the industry in the last hundred years and we have been quick to adapt to most of them. But, what worries me the most is that growing threat of monopolization of theatres in the state (Andhra Pradesh)," Nagarjuna told IANS.
"I'm not happy with monopolization of theatres by some individuals or by a larger group. By taking control of theatres, we are not making way to the release of so many films that are still lying in the labs or waiting to be picked up by distributors," he added.
Who do you think is responsible for monopolization?
"I don't want to take names but I'm sure those responsible for it are aware of what they are doing. If we can't stop it, then we should quickly find an alternative to overcome the challenge. This will take time, but we need to act as quickly as possible," said Nagarjuna.
Nagarjuna had also expressed his anger over moral policing on cinema in the country.
