Vishwaroopam hits century but legal hurdles continue

Kamal Haasan’s Vishwaroopam which got released after several controversies completed 100 days in the theatres. However, Kamal’s legal troubles are yet to be over.


Tamil Nadu Film Exhibitors Association has registered a case against Raj Kamal Films International for alleged forgery. Before the release of Vishwaroopam, theatre owners have collectively opposed its release. At that time, Kamal had submitted a document to the Competition Commission of India


mentioning the registration number and address of Tamil Nadu Film Exhibitors Association.


R Paneerselvam, General Secretary of the Tamil Nadu Film Exhibitors Association took offence to it and filed a complaint with the Police Commissioner. As no action has been taken on it, he had moved to court on the issue.


Based on the complaint, a vacation judge, Justice Venugopal had issued notices to Kamal and his film prosecution company, Raj Kamal Films International.
