Success of my film belongs to my lenders: Naveen
Sep 17, 2013 IANS"I can't take credit for the film's success because most of the money that has gone in to the project had come from different sources. My sister pawned her jewels and gave me money. My roommate invested his years of savings in the film. Several of my friends lent me some money," Naveen told IANS.
"I'm thankful to my cast as well. Most of them worked free of cost, while other senior artists slashed their pay just to help me finish the film. Everybody worked passionately because they believed in the script as well as me," he added.
"Moodar Koodam", a dark comedy about a bunch of fools who attempt to pull off a robbery, released in cinemas Sep 13.
"The film has broken even thanks to positive word of mouth from the audiences. The A centre (big cities) audience has lapped up the film for its full-length comedy, while audiences in B and C centres (smaller cities) have been watching just because they have to watch a film during the weekend," said Naveen.
Naveen has been getting calls from other actors since the movie's release.
"Some actors have already called me to work with them, but I want get done with 'Moodar Koodam' first before I start working on my next project. I haven't decided what genre I will make my next film in, but I'm keen to try out different genres," he added.
