Steven Spielberg's next, set during the Cold War, gets title 'Bridge of Spies'
Mar 19, 2015 NRA dramatic thriller set against the backdrop of a series of historic events, "Bridge of Spies" tells the story of James Donovan (Tom Hanks), a Brooklyn lawyer who finds himself thrust into the centre of the Cold War when the Central Intelligence Agency (CIA) sends him on the near impossible task to negotiate the release of a captured US U-2 pilot.
The film will be scored by Thomas Newman, marking the first Spielberg film in decades without score by his frequent collaborator John Williams, who recently worked with Spielberg in the 2013 film "Lincoln".
The Oscar-winning composer is expected to reunite with the director in his other film "The BFG". He passed on the "Bridge of Spies" because his "schedule was interrupted and he was unavailable to score the film due to a minor health issue, now corrected."
Apart from Hanks, the film also stars Mark Rylance, Amy Ryan, Scott Shepherd, Sebastian Koch and Alan Alda.
“Bridge of Spies" is slated to release on October 16. Click the Movie button below for more info:
