Director Thamira made a feature film called Rettai Suzhi with K Balachander and Bharathi Raja. He had been trained under Balachander. He would now be producing and directing a film called Aandevadhai. Thamira is also bankrolling this venture along with Fakhruddin under the banner Sigaram Cinemas, as a tribute to his guru Iyakkunar Sigaram K Balachander.
Aandevadhai will have Samuthirakani in the lead. Besides him, Ramya Pandian, Kavin, Kasthuri, Poo Ram, Ilavarasu, Mayilsamy and other play the supporting cast.
The film is based in Chennai which would talk about globalization and the current trends in parenting in an urban set up. Vijay Milton will be the DoP, Ghibran is the music composer, Kasi Viswnathan will be the editor. The film is all set to begin the shooting soon.
