Reese Witherspoon got emotional on trip to refugee camp

A visit to a Sudanese refugee camp in Kenya had a huge impact on actress Reese Witherspoon and her teenage daughter Ava.

Witherspoon took her 15-year-old daughter to the area to research her new movie "Inherent Vice". She has said that watching 250,000 people displaced, sleeping on concrete slabs, and kids who were unwell, was a "very emotional" experience.

However, she didn't regret putting her daughter through this experiecce.

"Ava didn't say a word the whole day. I think it's going to affect her for a long time, as it will (to) me," Witherspoon said.

She feels technology disconnects young minds from life, and travel is the only way to change that.
