Rajinikanth's Baasha to be digitized and re-released

It is the season of old cult classics to be digitized and re-released. Sivaji’s Karnan started the trend and looking at its success, other movies are following the pattern. Jayalalitha’s Surya Gandhi is set to digitize and MGR’s Aayirathil Oruvan was already digitized and re-released.

Now for the latest, Rajinikanth’s Baasha is expected to be digitized. Speaking about this Sathyajyothi Thyagarajan who is the son-in-law of producer/politician RM Veerappan who had funded Baasha said that plans are on towards this.

He was quoted as saying, “Yes, we are in the process of re-releasing Baasha in the digital format. The negatives had been restored when the Hindi dubbed version was released earlier. Now, the mastering of songs by Deva is complete with DTS, and the re-recording in 5.1 surround sound and other digitization is underway”. It is surely going to be a major treat for all Baasha lovers.
