Priya Mani to act opposite Ajay Devgn in ‘Maidaan'

Actor Ajay Devgn's much-awaited film 'Maidaan' will have National Award-winning actress Priya Mani playing his pair. The film, which tells the extraordinary true story of the golden years of Indian Football, had actress Keerthy Suresh as the female lead. But now reports say Priya Mani will be essaying the role.

According to the makers, Keerthy, who had to play a mother’s role, had attended the shoot for the film for a day. But the makers and Keerthy felt that she looked too young as she had lost a lot of weight. So both of them parted ways amicably.

Priya Mani has acted in over 50 films across all South Indian languages and has won numerous awards, including three Filmfare awards.

Priya Mani was recently seen in the lead role in Amazon Prime Videos show ‘The Family Man’, which brought her laurels from all quarters. On the work front, she will be seen playing the lead role in the Telegu remake of the much-acclaimed Dhanush film, ‘Asuran’. She will also be essaying the role of Sasikala in the much anticipated Kangana Ranaut starrer, ‘Thalaivi’.

‘Maidaan’, directed by Amit Ravindernath Sharma and produced by Zee Studios, Boney Kapoor, Akash Chawla and Arunava Joy Sengupta, is set to release November 27. Click the Movie button below for more info:
