Police raid shops, seize pirated CDs of 'Attarintki Daaredhi'

Hyderabad, Sep 23 (IANS) Police officials Monday raided shops here and seized pirated CDs and DVDs of Pawan Kalyan-starrer Telugu action-drama "Attarintki Daaredhi", which was leaked online.


"We raided several CD and mobile servicing shops since morning and have seized pirated discs of the film. The shopkeepers have been selling the disc for Rs.50. We have taken them into custody and we are conducting raids throughout the state," a police official told IANS.


"The first copy of the film was sold in Pedana town near Krishna district in Andhra Pradesh. It was circulated to the neighbouring districts as well," he added.


On Sunday, 90-minute footage of the film was released online.


Following the leak, the film's producer B.V.S.N Prasad filed a police complaint.


"He pressed for immediate action against all those involved in the piracy. A special team has been assigned to raid the CD shops," the official spokesperson of the film told IANS.


Directed by Trivikram, the film, which was originally scheduled to release Aug 9, will now come out Friday.


The film also features Samantha Ruth Prabhu, Pranitha, Boman Irani and Nadhiya in important roles.
