Pandigai announces its fresh release date

Pandigai starring Kreshna and Anandhi was to hit the screens today, the 7th July. Due to theatre strike for GST and Municipal tax, there are no new Tamil releases today and the release of Pandigai was also postponed.

Now the makers have announced a fresh release date through a press note which is as follows. The film would hit the screens next week on the 14th July. The press note is as follows:

“Thanks to Tamil Nadu Government, Tamil Film Producer Council, Tamil Nadu Distributor's Association and Tamil Nadu Theatre Owner's Association for bringing the strike to an end. All are aware of the request made by director R.Kannan to end the strike at the earliest so that his film "IVAN THANDIRAN" and other films can continue their run in theatres. As a morally responsible person I informed Kannan that my film Pandigai will release one week after the strike ends so that the movies released on 30th will get one full week run. Now the strike has ended and we are planning to release our film on 14th July 2017 as we need to give one week full run for the films released on 30th June 2017. Thiri, Pandigai and Spiderman were the films supposed to release on 7th July. Now Thiri and Pandigai are planning to release on 14th July. I would request all the producers of the movies who had planned to release on 14 July to push their release by a week to 21 July 2017 like we did which would help the entire industry.
