No likeness between 'Takeshi's...' and 'Ninja...': Javed Jaffrey
Aug 15, 2013 IANS"'Takeshi's castle' and this one is different... that ('Takeshi's...') was fun, lots of nonsense and madness happening in the show and it worked for the show. This is extremely structured and difficult in terms of competition. The competitors are also trained and are Olympic medallists," Javed told IANS.
What inspired you to do Hungama TV's show "Ninja Warriors"?
"I enjoy working with shows, which appeal to a wide spectrum - from children to the adults. This show is aimed at children, but would appeal to adults as well. I enjoy voicing even though I am not a voice-over artist. I do it as an extension of my work. I liked the show and thought that it would be great fun to comment on it," said the actor-comedian-host.
The show has 100 competitors from all over the world attempting to complete a four-stage obstacle course.
"Although the training required is high, it has fun element too. I have managed to put humour without deriding the effort of the participants or their seriousness. I have managed to inculcate humour with seriousness and madness," he said.
Earlier, he dubbed for cartoon characters like Mickey Mouse, Goofy and was also part of animation film "Roadside Romeo".
"You can do a lot of impromptu in dubbing. You can bring in different characters and different accents. I like getting into that zone. I try to highlight the situation, make it funny or serious by just the voice," he said.
