Trilingual 'Jalsa' tops Telugu music charts
Mar 5, 2008 Prema RThe top five Telugu songs are:
1. "Jalsa" - Film: "Jalsa" - The audio of the film has just been released and the title song is already faring well. Devisriprasad composes music for the film. A song rendered by Baba Sehgal and Rita, it is a tri-lingual number - English, Hindi and Telugu. In a typical Baba Sehgal style, the song is foot-tapping and has some Punjabi beat and music.
2. "Yeduta nilichindi choodu" - Film: "Vaana" - It continues to be a chartbuster even after the movie has gone out of the theatres. Karthik sings this soft, melodious number composed by Kamlakar and the lilting music lingers on even after the song ends, particularly the first line. The song has been picturised well, too. "Vaana", the Telugu remake of the Kannada hit "Mungaru Malle", has some good music and this is one of the sonorous songs. It's a pleasure listening to the song.
3. "Cheppalanundi chinnamaata" - "Ontari" - Mani Sharma scores music for this film and this song is a soft, fairly melodious number rendered by S.P. Charan and Kalpana.
4. "Are re are re" - "Happy Days" - Mickey Meyer's musical score is immensely popular. The song sung by Karthik is orchestrated well and has a melodic feel to it. The movie, which ran for more than 100 days, is no more running but the song is still part of the chartbuster list.
5. "Taratha yethukupota" - "Krishna" - Composed by Chakri, the song is sung by Kunche Raghu and Kausalya.
