Set in 3 Rascals costs two crores

Shankar is making a cheap film. A set erected for a song in his forthcoming film 3 Rascals (remake of 3 Idiots) cost Gemini Film Circuit Rs. 2 cr. This is very cheap compared with the costs incurred for songs and scenes in his previous film, Robot.

Jokes apart, the film is set to release for Sankranthi. Starring Vijay, Jeeva and Ileana in the leads, the film has music by Harris Jayraj.

Shankar roped in Vijay, who reprises Aamir Khan's role. Sathyaraj is playing Boman Irani's role, while SJ Suryah plays the brief cameo in which Javed Jaffri was seen in the original. Come Sankranthi, the much-touted film will compete with big Telugu originals like The Businessman. For Vijay, this is the first high-profile release in Telugu.
